Maples Appoints Hong Kong Fiduciary Boss In Private Client Push

Maples Fiduciary, part of the group, has appointed Charlie Sparrow as regional head of fiduciary in Hong Kong.

Sparrow previously worked at the firm’s affiliated organisation, Maples and Calder, an international law firm. There, he was part of the trusts team in Hong Kong. In his new role at Maples Fiduciary, Sparrow will be responsible for driving the growth of the private client services business across Asia.

He will work alongside Peter Goddard, who is based in the Cayman Islands and recently joined the group as head of private client services. Goddard has more than 20 years' experience of working with large Cayman Islands trust companies.

In other movements within the Maples group, Maples and Calder has hired Morven McMillan as partner and co-head of trusts in the Cayman Islands office. McMillan, who heads up Mourant Ozannes' international trusts and private client team in the Cayman Islands, will join the firm in January 2016.

“The appointment of Morven, Peter and Charlie further strengthen our depth of expertise and experience in the private wealth space and support the continued expansion of our service offering globally,” said the group's chief executive, Scott Somerville.
